Joe Glavin

Joe Glavin has proudly called Oceanside home for over 65 years. Whether helping behind the scenes or stepping in for security at events like the St. Anthony’s Feast, Joe is always ready to lend a hand. His commitment to the community also extends to his longtime service as a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and active member of Chapter 3487, where he helped organize children’s Christmas parties and other local initiatives.
Professionally, Joe brings over 40 years of experience in office equipment maintenance, and while he doesn’t work for local businesses directly, his heart and service are fully invested in Oceanside. He first got involved in community work because he couldn’t stand to see Oceanside referred to as “the dirty O”—he wanted to be part of the solution.
What Joe loves most about Oceanside is the people: friendly, welcoming, supportive, and deeply connected. He believes volunteering is about more than giving back—it’s about strengthening the fabric of the community, building social connections, and creating a shared sense of pride and responsibility. Above all, he treasures the friendships he’s made along the way and the opportunity to be part of something larger than himself.
